The Gathering Well is a nonprofit in Sioux Falls, SD that supports adoptive and foster families through monthly family gatherings and trauma-informed training. After helping to establish the name and identity of the organization when it was founded in 2020, MJM has continued to support The Gathering Well as they continue to grow and adapt to better serve the needs of their community.

The Gathering Well came to us needing a new name and brand identity that reflected their supportive programming for foster and adoptive families in the Sioux Falls area. The parenting playbook is different when caring for kids from hard places, and The Gathering Well equips caregivers with trauma-informed training and strategies to understand what their kids need. Our team created a welcoming new brand identity and website to help The Gathering Well continue their work serving families.
After a few years of success, The Gathering Well came back to us with good news: they were growing! Our team expanded on our identity work, creating a storytelling video and pitch deck that share The Gathering Well’s current success, as well as their projected impact. With our help, The Gathering Well is able to appeal to an expanded donor base.
The Gathering Well equips families to operate from a place of connection over correction. We developed a brand identity that invites parents to connect within their own family unit and with the larger foster and adoptive community. Our team then created a new website to help families understand the supportive network awaiting them.
When The Gathering Well approached us about their planned expansion, increasing programming and applying for grant funding, we continued our storytelling work. Since the focus here was to share their work with new donors, we wrote and designed a pitch deck that helps share the purpose and impact of the organization. We also produced a video that helps them share the heart of their mission.
Each piece of The Gathering Well’s brand identity is designed to invite. The gentle color palette and lifestyle photography welcome families before they ever set foot in The Gathering Well’s space. Playful patterns add warmth across web and print formats.
At its core, The Gathering Well offers hope for sustained healing within families. Asking a caregiver to consider a new parenting approach must be approached with sensitivity, and our team crafted a calm and inviting voice to speak to this. The Gathering Well has an amazing in-person experience, with many parents describing the monthly support gatherings as the one place they feel understood. Our team made sure written content was as warm and caring as the in-person experience.
